Dr. Deborah Berebichez


Deborah Berebichez is a physicist, TV host and data scientist. She is the first Mexican woman to graduate with a physics Ph.D. from Stanford University. Dr. Berebichez is the co-host of Discovery Channel’s Outrageous Acts of Science TV show (2012 – present) where she uses her physics background to explain the science behind extraordinary engineering feats. She also appears as an expert on the Travel Chanel, NOVA, CNN, FOX, MSNBC and numerous international media outlets.

Christine McKinley


Christine McKinley is a mechanical engineer, musician, and author. Her musical Gracie and the Atom, won a Portland Drammy for Original Score. Her book Physics for Rock Stars was published in 2014 by Penguin Random House. Christine hosted Brad Meltzer’s Decoded on History Channel and Under New York on Discovery Channel.

Physics for Rock Stars is a clever, wryly passionate homage to the beauty of physics. It’s also a memoir of a Catholic girlhood, and that makes for a strange mix, but it works. Think Tobias Wolff meets Richard Feynman, only female.

Kevin Delaney

Kevin Delaney is a 'science guy,' storyteller and host of Science Channel’s popular show Street Science.  Street Science focuses on unique experiments involving chemistry, fire and explosions, among others, caught in slow-motion footage.  In the show, Delaney leaves his lab behind and hits the streets to conduct "larger-than-life demos" combining "scientific method with curiosity and plain old-fashioned ingenuity." The experiments include creating a man-made fire tornado, turning leaf blowers into homemade hovercrafts, impressing a crowd by making an instant nitrogen cloud and visiting a salon to share a surprising use for its hydrogen peroxide.

At the 1st annual 2016 Project Fibonacci® S.T.E.A.M. Conference, the scholars visited several prominent off-site locations and were also given unlimited access to hands-on workshops taught by industry experts and professionals. Workshops focused on many aspects including the science behind movie-making, cyber security, classical music, music composition, West African hand drumming, drones, the art of illusion, and much more.  Scholars also took part in building a functional geodesic dome! 

In addition to workshops and tours, the 2016 Fibonacci Speaker Series provided access and insight from national and international celebrities.
