F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions)

We are beyond excited to see you this weekend for the 2nd Annual Project Fibonacci® STEAM Conference!  Below are a few answers to some questions you might have:


 If you have not sent in your medical release form or code of conduct, please bring a physical copy with you to registration day.

What should I bring for the weeklong event?

  • Clothing
    • Shirts, pants, socks, undergarments, athletic clothes, formal outfit(s) for special events, pajamas, bathing suit, jacket/hoodie
  • Toiletries
    • Toothbrush/toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deodorant, brush, cosmetics
  • Other
    • Sunscreen, bug spray, musical instruments, art supplies

Where/when is opening day and what should I expect?

  • Sunday, July 30th is the first official day of the conference!
  • STEAM Scholars & Parents should go to the Beeches Conference Center anytime between 12-2:00PM to sign in and complete the in-person registration process.  Stations will include the following:
    • Registration & Sign-in
    • Project Fibonacci® Swag station 
    • Recieve team color and conference program
  • Luggage will also be tagged and brought to STEAM Scholar assigned rooms by the Beeches staff
  • Discuss medical needs
    • Meet our event medic, discuss any medications/allergies and transfer any medications to our secure medic location.  We will also verify receipt of your medical release form.
  • Review Code of Conduct
    • Verify with our Facility Security Officer that you have read and agree to the rules and terms of the code of conduct.
  • Discuss Workshops
    • Each workshop has limited space available.  STEAM Scholars will work with our workshop experts to choose their individual weeks workshop agenda that best suits their interests. (all workshop descriptions are in the 2017 Final Program)

Where & when is the final day?

  • The last day of the conference is Saturday, August 5th. 
  • On this day, STEAM Scholars will host a STEAM fair with their final projects for the public, followed by our closing ceremonies.
  • Parents are highly encouraged to attend!  This event will take place at Rome Free Academy (95 Dart Circle, Rome, NY 13441) from 9:00AM-3:00PM.

There will also be a college and career fair highlighting local businesses and colleges with exciting opportunities for our STEAM Scholars.  STEAM Scholars will be shuttled back to the Beeches from 2:30-3:30 to gather their belongings and begin their departure. Parents will need to meet their kids at the Beeches Inn for their departure.
