After extended and thoughtful consideration, Project Fibonacci® has regrettably decided that it is in everyone’s best interest — especially our scholars — to reschedule the 2020 Project Fibonacci® STEAM Leadership Conference.

The decision to delay the week-long STEAM Conference was not made lightly and is based on several factors of the current quarantine scenario.  Although we are certain you are not surprised at the decision, we wanted you to be informed of our logic and plans.  Of course, the quarantine is the major consideration impacting the decision.  Student health and safety are the most crucial factors, but other issues impact this decision.  For example, Project Fibonacci® strives to provide an immersive culture for our scholars.  The willingness of educational venues (Masonic Medical, Munson Williams, Solid Waste Authority, The MOST, Ft Rickey, etc) to provide student group access will likely to be extremely limited, thus negatively impacting this important educational element.

School closures as well as the announced reduction in NY State Education Department funding makes it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to secure scholar nominations and related COSER funding which makes it possible for many of our students to attend.  Although we are working to secure grants to support student enrollment, we recognize that grant awards will become significantly reduced or entirely unavailable as these groups work tirelessly to ensure that the basic sustenance needs of community members are satisfied.  Project Fibonacci® recognizes these more imperative current needs and has been working to lend support as well.

We will be announcing alternative educational opportunities that students may want to consider.

Should you have any questions, PLEASE do not hesitate to contact us; we will get back to you quickly.  Until then, we look forward to being together again soon.  Be safe and stay healthy!
