The Project Fibonacci® Foundation has been inspired by the renowned mathematician, Leonardo Bonnaci, later nicknamed “Fibonacci” by his contemporaries and historians.

During the 13th Century, Fibonacci “discovered” a branch of mathematics that neatly describes emergent patterns we often encounter in science, engineering, nature, art, music and elsewhere throughout the cosmos.  Centuries later, the significance of these patterns and the interrelationships between these disciplines has never been greater.  It is this founding principle that fuels The Project Fibonacci Foundation, and our vision for enriching STEAM communities and driving a modern renaissance throughout New York state.

FIBONACCI IN MUSIC

The Project Fibonacci® Foundation, with help from Live and Breathe, have come together to create a masterpiece album based entitled Rete.  Each individual composition is uniquely based on the Fibonacci Sequence and the Golden Ratio.

The Live and Breathe is an original rock trio hailing from New York. Their music combines indie-rock sensibilities with a healthy brew of influence from world music, jazz, classic rock, and folk. With a mix of organic and processed instrumentation, a refreshingly unorthodox songwriting style and poetic cadence, the Live and Breathe’s music is worth exploring.

Rete can be purchased on iTunes and Amazon.

WHAT DOES FIBONACCI MEAN TO OUR STEAM SCHOLARS?

Here’s the Fibonacci Sequence as explained by a 2017 Project Fibonacci STEAM Scholar from the Albany Leadership Charter School for Girls. This incredible student had her and seven of her classmate’s tuition partially funded thanks to our 2017 supporter, Advanced Automation Corporation.
